Hello and welcome to my website and blog.
The first thing you should know about me is that I'm passionate about the outdoors!
For as long as I can remember, my happiest memories have involved being outside. Mountain Biking, Hiking, Cycling, Kayaking and Canoeing - I'm happiest when I'm out in the fresh air and I am lucky enough to live near several of the most beautiful outdoor places in the UK (possibly the world).
The second thing you should know about me is that I love being creative.
Whilst I’ve been photographing on and off for many years and I always took a compact “point & shoot” camera out on my hikes, I got more serious about my photography back in 2015 when I was got my first DSLR and started taking that out on my walks and longer hikes. I enjoyed learning about the camera, the rules of composition and most importantly, I loved the way the camera made me more aware of my surroundings and how the light plays with the landscape.
Through landscape photography, I discovered a passion that perfectly married up my love for the outdoors and my love of being creative.
I firmly believe that learning is life-long and that it is impossible to ever know all there is to know about photography. My own photography is constantly evolving and it my hope that my Blog and YouTube Video’s become an archive of my own learning, my successes and failures, as well as the highs and lows of my photographic journey and, in documenting this process, I hope to provide some benefit to anyone wishing to improve their own photography.
So please take a look at my blog posts, feel free to comment or ask questions (I try to respond to all comments as quickly as I possibly can) and if you like what you see, subscribe to my newsletter where I’ll keep you up-to-date with all things Landscape photography.
Thanks for dropping by and if you ever see my on top or a mountain or down in a valley somewhere, please come and say hello!
