Personal Project Up-Date: 1 Month Done, 11 More To Go

What a month it’s been! I can’t believe it’s been a whole month since I started my one year personal photography project. If you’re new to the blog, you can find out all about my photography project here.

Time is a strange thing isn’t it, I’m sure you’ve experienced the same as me before – it doesn’t seem long ago since I started my project on 1st Jan 2019, however, Christmas and New Year seem ages ago. Like I said, time can be strange!

So what have I been up to over the past month?

Well firstly, if you’ve been subscribed to my blog for a while, you will have noticed a lot more posting. I’ve got some great content coming up for both beginner photographers and those with more experience – so if you haven’t done already, hit the RSS button or subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss out.

Secondly, my personal photography project is going really well. I’ve managed to get out and shoot in Gelt Woods each week and am already starting to get to know the area reasonably well. There are so many places within this very small area that I didn’t know existed, so I’m thoroughly enjoying the experience of exploring this woodland with new eyes.

I’ve found some interesting compositions that I’m hoping to return to when the conditions are right and I’ve even managed to shoot a portfolio-level image that I’m extremely happy with, which is a bonus as I almost walked straight past the composition!

I really do like this image and I’ve edited it a bit more than I normally would, to bring out the textures and details in the rocks and ferns. it’s one of my favourite images (I would say of the year, but as it’s only January, there isn’t much competition!

I haven’t yet ventured out of the woods to explore up-stream – perhaps something for next month as there are a few locations that I want to scope out.

So, just a short post today, I just wanted to keep you posted as I progress with my personal project. 1 month down, 11 more to go………the clock is ticking!
