Video of the Month - January 2019

As you probably all know by now, I am nothing if not persistent!

We often only get that magical shot that we’ve already got in our head if we persist, work the scene, come back time and again and often fail over and over. but eventually, with time, patience and a small element of luck, we get that shot - and boy does it feel good!

It’s part of why I love landscape photography so much. Planning an image, working the scene and being beaten back by elements outside our our control (usually the weather) can be crushing at times - particularly when its only 4 am and you know you’re going home empty handed…..again (see my Blencathra post - I’ve still never seen the view from the top)!

But when you get the shot, when everything comes together and you know you’ve captured something quite special, that’s when all the disappointments get forgotten about. All that matters in that moment is the pure joy of capturing the shot that you’ve maybe had visualised for several months, even years! Those who have got “that shot” will know exactly what I mean.

This months video of the month comes from photographer and YouTuber Stuart McMillan. I’ve been following Stuart’s work for a while on YouTube and he really does produce some amazing images.

In this video, his persistence pays off and he gets rewarded with not just one, but several beautiful images. I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to give too much away, but I hope you enjoy his video as much as I have.
