Photography kit I never leave at home – Shower Cap

Photography kit I never leave at home – Shower Cap

In this new monthly segment to the blog, I will be talking about unusual pieces of kit that I keep in my camera bag.

Like many photographers, space in my camera bag is at an absolute premium and I don’t have enough room to take useless items, or pieces of kit that never get used, out with me.

Back after a Summer Break (or should that be fracture)

Back after a Summer Break (or should that be fracture)

It’s been a while hasn’t it!

After fracturing the back of my heel towards the end of July, I though it was probably best to have a few weeks off in August to completely rest up and allow my foot to heal. And I’m please to say that I’m now OFF MY CRUTCHES!

Video of the month - August 2018

Well, I'm sure this months video of the month will come as no surprise. It inspired my last post and has even inspired a whole series of posts that I'm busy working on at the moment.

That's right (drum roll please), this months Video of the Month is Joseph Seager's video "5 Way Photography is Good for your Mental Health" .

In this video, Joseph talks about how he used photography to help him through a recent bout of poor mental health and why he feels it is important to break down the stigma attached to mental health.

Focus - Can Photography Help Improve Mental Health?

Mental health can mean different things to different people and there are a whole range of medical and psychological conditions that fall under the umbrella of mental health. We're all so different and, with so many different mental health conditions, it isn’t really surprising that there doesn’t seem to be a one-size-fits-all treatment for mental health conditions.

With this in mind, I am putting together a series of posts on mental health and how photography has helped me and others I've known, through periods of difficult mental health. My hope in putting this series together is to share some of the tips and advice that have helped me in the past, in the hope that a few other people may also find some value.

Video of the Month - June 2018

This months video comes courtesy of First Man Photography. I really like Adam's informative video's and he really comes across as a warm, friendly and very knowledgeable person. Recently, his production style has really improved - with his video's moving from just "vlogging" to a more cinematic feel. If you haven't come across First Man Photography on YouTube, I highly recommend you take a look!
